[daily dobbie] is it accessible? September 17, 2008

“Yes, but is it accessible?”

The most frequent question I had for 18 months working on one major client. Although it got to be a standing joke, the practice is incredibly important and one that is sadly overlooked too often. Sure it’s difficult and places some limitations on the design but wouldn’t you want as many people as possible to be engaged with your work?

Here’s a simple tool from HP that tells you if your colours are accessible. Plug them in and away you go. A definitive answer too to avoid the all too often “we’re pretty sure it is.”

More on accessibility here.
