teutonic launch scuppered May 25, 2007

 german owen

A new poster has gone up in Euston underground for Germany Tourism with Owen “I like sweatbands” Hargreaves replacing Sir Geoff Hurst. Unfortunately for the normally efficient Teutonic tourist board, Hargreaves has clearly had enough of the delights of the Rhine and the Bundesliga and wants to play in rainy Manchester. Even Germany’s last ditch appeal that it has “enough shops to keep even a footballer’s wife happy” looks destined to fall flat in the face of playing for beetroot nose and alongside Rooney and Ronaldo. I quite liked going to Cologne in a previous life though and have a special fondness for schweinshaxe.
