buffling = business waffling December 18, 2008

Working in the marketing world gives us ready access to utterly ridiculous phrases and words. Often I find myself imaging what a nob I and my colleagues would sound if we uttered such phrases in the real world. We would be shunned. So I always enjoy receiving variations on bullshit bingo. Ramada Encore have been busy little elves collating the top 20 most hated business terms and joined in the nonsense party by creating a new word for the phenomena: buffling – business waffling. I guess they figured using the word bullshit was not synergistic with the brand experience they were trying to project. Oh no, I’m at it again.
Here’s the top 20. Feel free to chime in with more:

My thanks to Katrina Jackson @ eulogy for sharing.
Thought I’d revert before close of play today, tried calling but we’ve just had telephone tennis all morning. Your voicemail must be playing up but I’m in meetings all day anyway now so flick me a quick note to explain the whole shabang.
