I saw this map on an art director’s wall. I like it in that quirky digital way of looking at the world. This and many others including a map of the island in Lost can be found here. And check out the always informative & thought provoking Mr Verdino’s post on trend blends for 08.
Warholizer to Andy Warhol-ize any image you like. So here’s Warhol Spam. (source: Bnox)
Data on Facebook about the balance between having the right number of friends and too many.
This is just brilliant.
And Google had a Lego version of their logo this week to celebrate 50 years of Lego. Lego always makes me smile. And I cannot wait for Lego Batman and Lego Indiana Jones to come out on PS3 as Star Wars is just the best.
when you are not your own friend January 30, 2008

In a nutshell, this annoyed me. I don’t know this guy even though he has the same name as me. Surely inviting people to be your friend on Facebook means at a bare minimum you know who they are? I would contest that on Linked In it’s more about business contacts and that’s OK.
On closer inspection the guy appears to have been doing something a bit Dave Gorman-esque but clearly not as successfully. Or as funny.
So along with invites to kiss certain people or pass along strange dog pictures, I’ll be ignoring this. Maybe I’m just getting old and cantankerous?

Fancy being a fellow at Ogilvy? Learn more about it here at the scrappy blog. Applications by 10 February. That’s more than enough plugs.

Load up your footy skills and you could be part of an ad break at euro 2008. But seeing as the “golden generation” won’t be there, maybe you won’t either? I’ll default to Italy as I always do when England go out/don’t turn up. I’ll be honest too, this promotion is being run by my current agency.

Another outing for bullshit bingo which is always amusing. And working in the world of agencies, too close to the truth sometimes. (thanks to Debbie)

ideas please January 15, 2008

Without getting too much into bodiy functions, I think it’s fair to say that most chaps I know have a favourite trap in which to do their business. And for a few days, this was stuck on the inside of the door of my “local”, prompting me to add a response.
I can’t claim to take credit for “the bog blog: the blog you write while on the bog”, that was by the hardest working man in advertising, Chris Ryan. The next day the yellow sticky was gone. So perhaps the idea wasn’t strong enough to take hold. There are a few bog blogs out there but mainly extolling virtues of traps up and down the lands. Inspiration can strike anywhere but clearly the gentlemen folk of Ogilvy care not to in the toilette. Any advances on ideas in the lav?
