Blackburn Rovers have a bloke as a cheerleader. An odd spectacle. I couldn’t help laughing. And where’s his pom poms??? Wrong.
Image found here after seeing on Sky Sports News just now. They couldn’t stop laughing either.

Even Hugo Boss are getting into the music scene but at least they’re letting you upload your tracks with a chance to win some MTV thing. But does anyone watch MTV anymore?

gore-tex brand experience November 21, 2007

It seems every time we go to West Quay in Southampton there’s another opportunity to experience a brand. This time Gore Tex were giving you the opportunity to try out their clothes in their special climate change box. Basically it replicates extremes of temperature and shows you just how well the clothing performs. Having had a Gore Tex ski jacket some moons ago I’m already a convert although I was tempted to try the glove box on the other side of the stand which does the same as the main box but you have to keep hold of two ski poles. There weren’t too many willing volunteers but a great idea as you’re basically screwed if you buy crap equipment and it turns a tad chilly on the side of a mountain. This is active proof of why paying extra gets you the best equipment.

Ad week article: Is social media killing the microsite? ( Found following armano on twitter who now also has a product page on Facebook where you can get all the nice graphics)
And talking of Facebook, here’s some interesting stats from the UK market.
Good examples of social media in this post.
And being a slide monkey, I always like to share things like this. Loads of presentation templates, tables, graphics etc. to spice up your decks.

duran duran 2.0 2.0 November 13, 2007

Re-mix Duran Duran’s latest tune. Tie in with Apple Garage Band. Not got an apple? Er, never mind. You can still watch Simon Le Bon’s ever so creepy 12 second promo video on the site. Quite similar to some very good remixes that fans of David Bowie did last year or the year before. Interestingly Bowie was an inspiration to Le Bon & co in their music too as well as their promotional activity.
And listen to some of the tracks on My Space. Or on their official album site with streaming video featuring odd phrases like “this song is a tempo ballad”. Oxymoron? Actually I quite like the choons. Confession: I used to be a fan when I were a lad. Well, they were like ace: compared to those Spandau Ballet ponces. Although looking at this pic makes me feel wrong about the 80s in general.

I was in Canary Wharf today and saw a huge plume of smoke across the water. My initial thoughts were of a bomb which shows just what impact the recent 9/11 and 7/7 bombings have had on your state of mind. Fortunately it was a fire but I still can’t believe how much smoke there was. Images are from Canary Wharf at ground level and then from floor 10 of Ogilvy’s building which is where the video is also from. More photo’s here.

mmm, sweet, sweet beer November 9, 2007

This is great. Track who you owe beer to. It works using the Twitter platform (which is where I found out about it). There’s also a non-beer version in the pipeline too so you can owe orange mocha frappucino’s too should you wish. Here’s the people who made it. This might trigger me to activate my usage of Twitter a bit more as I’ve mainly been using it to cross-post blog stuff. Although I would use it a lot more if it was on Facebook too which is where most of my social network is these days.
